Trespassing on railroad property is a growing problem and often has tragic consequences. In 2018, 65 percent of the 888 train-related deaths were people who were trespassing. InterImage applied its emerging technology capabilities. to better understand, predict, and prevent future railroad yard trespassing incidents.
Using advanced machine learning and AI technologies, InterImage developed a prescriptive solution to predict future trespassing. It works like this: RPA bots extract data from existing Federal Railroad Administration systems. Machine learning algorithms then process the information and, based on historical data and trends, predict which areas in every county in the U.S. will have the highest volume of trespassers. Developed in two months, the system also integrates map visualization and identifies factors that have the most significant impact on trespassing volume.
